There’s a lot of harsh opinions here about Carlos that seem to make Gaby out to be an innocent saint. He wanted to do something different after his alcoholism.

Karl was bad but I do like how Karl was Karl and once he was doing trying (barley) with Susan, he had no problem being who he was and not apologizing for it. Then again, I don’t think he bothered to understand why being perfect was so important to her or what her fear was if she wasn’t. Rex is definitely a douchebag and strangely becomes worse after he died, but originally I understood his frustration with Bre and her fake persona. 5 didn’t happen just because Tom willed it to happen. Children do not have to happen if you don’t want them to. That aside, Lynette could have gone on the pill, tied her tubes, he could have gotten a vasectomy (was it only Carlos who it was discussed or Tom too, I don’t remember) and again if she lived in a better show an abortion. I think the problem with Fairview is apparently abortion doesn’t exist. I never understand the baby argument on here about them. I think they both couldn’t handle the others success and I think they both couldn’t handle taking the others advice on things. Then of course she pushed him into his CFO job and then started to resent him for it. I also don’t find such an issue in her pushing Tom to be something (maybe she shouldn’t have on her first date with the hair stylist) but then again she kept him from his promotion in season 1 or 2 I think it was. He makes a comment about that like it’s petty but she explains why it matters and that’s a huge issue in my relationship. But then again, there were things Tom did that I actually really related with Lynette on. Lynette definitely had a problem talking down to Tom. I think that’s what made them all perfect for each other. I think the two big couples discussed here, Tom and Lynette and Gabby and Carlos, we’re pretty equal to me in terms of the bad in their relationships. I think Lynette did some nasty things to Tom and vice versa. I wanted to shake the shit out of him when he got with Jane.
